The government has proposed
that we need three million homes built by 2020, putting pressure on
developers and housing associations and going against all green
initiatives set in place.
Britain's Empty Home
scheme was setup by National Homebuyers after a shocking report came
to light that over a million homes were left abandoned in our towns
and cities throughout the UK.
These homes are either left because of death
with no beneficiaries or failed developer projects.
One million empty
houses is a third of what the government is requiring but nothing is
being done about it as councils do not have the resources or funding
to renovate these houses and is simply easier to lease a block of
new houses from developers.
Developers are not interested because they
would prefer to build in bulk on an empty plot, So this leaves these
houses to fall into ruin creating problems in the local areas from
pests, squatters etc.
National Homebuyers is now
teaming up with councils up and down the country to purchase these
empty properties, renovate them and turn these once blemishes on the
local map into a home for someone to live.
